Collaborative Procurement on the agenda this November
In an article on the Guardian website last week, Professor Diamond emphasised that ‘Collaborative procurement has to be the way forward and one that everyone will seek’. Across the sector we are seeing a greater push towards collaborative procurement and GeM acts as the central point for institutions to purchase collaboratively from the national and regional frameworks of the six HE purchasing consortia. In a nutshell, GeM is the central point for institutions to increase their collaborative procurement.
In this month's edition of the newsletter we bring you top tips to make sure that you are effectively displaying your products to institutions to ensure that they are buying from your contracts.
How Visible Are You On GeM?
As a supplier on one of these frameworks you are already at the forefront of this move towards collaborative procurement. However to ensure that you are making the most effective use of GeM you must ensure that the information on GeM is up to date.
To make sure that you are getting the best from GeM:
1) Make sure that we have details of the correct contact within your company. Email us at email@example.com if these details have changed or to check we have the correct address
2) Ensure that your latest catalogue with up to date pricing is uploaded to GeM. If you do not have a catalogue on GeM, your products will not appear in product searches within the system
3) Make sure that you are responding to quote requests. To find out more about how to respond to a request for quote see the RFQ user guide.
Not sure where to go to find out what you need to do?
Don't forget that we have training guides and more information to help you make the most out of GeM on the GeM website. From video training guides to the latest news, you can find everything you need to ensure you are getting the most out of the system at www.gem.ac.uk/suppliers
