Setting up for trading through GeM is a straightforward process. Use the following steps, guides and tutorials to assist you.

Step 1. Do you have an HE sector contract?
No - unfortunately you will be unable to trade through GeM. [GeM is a market place for suppliers that have already won a tender to supply the Higher & Further Education sectors. New tendering opportunities are advertised through the institutions, regional purchasing consortia (LUPC, SUPC, NEUPC, NWUPC, APUC, HEPCW, CPC), In-tend and the European Journal.]
Step 2. Do you have a National or local contract?
Local - If you have a local agreement with an institution you should ask them if they would put you onto GeM as a local contract. Once they have done this proceed to Step 3.
Step 3. Contact supplier adoption.
Supplier adoption will provide you with a simple registration form.
Step 4. Return the registration form to supplier adoption.
You will then be provided with login details for your GeM website (control centre).
Step 5. Log in to your GeM control centre and build your site.

Step 6. Provide a catalogue of your CONTRACTED products and prices.
Use this guide and excel Catalogue template then forward to Supplier Adoption who will request the contract managers approval of the content. Once they have the approval the catalogue will be loaded.
Step 7. Set up a merchant account.

Step 8. Inform supplier adoption that you are ready to trade.
Supplier adoption will check that everything is set up correctly and send a test order to your site.
Step 9. Testing Complete
Once testing is complete institutions will be informed your company is available for trading through GeM.
Step 10. Inform your customers they can trade with you through GeM.
You will be provided with GeM logos for use in your marketing.
